International Women in Science Conference
Anna Ledin works for the Women in Science activity at the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO).
In 2004 she received a PhD in molecular immunology from Uppsala University, in Sweden. During her PhD studies, she was highly involved in initiating and thereafter organizing the first national meeting for students who, just like her, had gone to a Swedish graduate school for biomedical research.
After defending her thesis in Uppsala, Anna moved to Heidelberg in Germany together with her family, where she took up an administrative position at EMBO. Her initial task at EMBO was to analyze the applicants for their Long Term-Fellowship programme using bibliometric data. The bibliometric evaluation has later on been expanded to also include applicants for EMBO's Young Investigator Programme. In addition to evaluate the two EMBO programmes, regarding male and female applicants, Anna has also been busy organizing this conference. So, enjoy!
